Junior Designer
part-time with potential to go full-time
- Creativity: You should feel confident thinking outside the box to bring ideas to life. Make connections, ask questions, make observations, and experiment.
- Strong design skills with an excellent sense in typography, composition, color, layout, hierarchy etc.
- Adobe Creative Suite: You should feel completely comfortable designing within tools such as Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
- Problem solving: Candidate should feel comfortable independently problem solving.
- Clear and concise communication: You should be able to clearly express your ideas, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once in fast-paced environment with competing deadlines, without oversight or reminders.
- Love for learning: As the design industry is ever-changing, candidate should be adaptable and highly-motivated to learn new skill-sets.
- Bonus: Showit platform: Although not required, it’s an added benefit if you have experience with the Showit website-building platform.
SKILLS NEEDED:
As a Junior Designer at Swan Haus, you’ll work closely with Katie and her clients to develop branding and websites that make them look and feel like the rockstars that they are. This will begin as a part-time role (approx. 20 hrs/week) with the opportunity to grow into a full-time role. Please note that this is not a freelance role. Swan Haus desires to hire an applicant that is interested is staying with us long-term. Candidates located in the Phoenix valley will be prioritized, but all applicants are encouraged to apply.
- Position is remote, with occasional in-person meetings and trainings.
- A huge benefit of working at Swan Haus is a flexible work schedule. Applicant will be able to work flexible hours, but we ask that you are available for at least 2 hours each business day. We will work with you to set regular work hours that fit your schedule.
- Plan to have a weekly call during business hours for training and updates. This can be scheduled based on the team's availability.
- We will require that you sign a non-compete agreement and expect that all design work be done solely for Swan Haus clients.
HOURS & AVAILABILITY:
- Brand, Web, and Graphic Design - You will be responsible for designing within the tools mentioned above. You will be directly involved in the design process of client branding suites, websites, and packaging, document design, and social media design. Applicant should understand how to design and export files for each.
- Client management - You will be responsible for communicating with clients to ensure they are onboarded correctly and that their project stays on track. This includes but is not limited to: welcome messages, reminder emails, proposal creation and delivery, payment reminders, etc. (Knowledge of the Dubsado platform is a bonus!)

COMPENSATION:
- This role will pay between $25-35/hr. More experienced designers will qualify for a higher pay rate.
